Generic IR hubs stop where B&O starts.
Most universal IR hubs are built for TVs and set-top boxes. They speak the common 38 kHz infrared dialect — and quietly fail with classic Bang & Olufsen.
Beo4-era systems use an unusual carrier frequency around 455 kHz. The signal is invisible to standard hubs, so a beautiful stereo gets left out of every scene, automation, and voice command in the house.
The choice has been: replace it, modify it, or leave it parked in the corner. None of that respects the original equipment.

The stereo joins the room again.
Your classic B&O system stops being a separate ritual and becomes part of the house — controlled the same way as the lights, the blinds, and everything else.

- “Hey Siri, play CD 3.”Voice control for sources you actually own.
- Dinner sceneLights dim, stereo wakes, volume settles into the room.
- One tap, any sourceRadio, CD, Aux — surfaced as native Home accessories.
- Volume, where you areFrom the Home app, the watch, or a wall tablet.
Set it up once. Hide it. Use the room.
Place it.
Set Beobridge near or behind the system. Strong IR LEDs do the work — no line-of-sight gymnastics.
Add it.
Adopt the bridge in Apple Home or Home Assistant via ESPHome. One setup, then it’s quiet.
Use the room.
Control the stereo from native apps, voice, scenes, and automations. No extra app to open.
A small device with a narrow, deliberate scope.
455 kHz, properly.
Built around B&O's uncommon IR carrier, not retrofitted from a generic TV hub.
Beo4-era commands.
A tested command set for classic audio systems — sources, transport, volume, standby.
Compatibility-first launch.
We're shipping in small batches and validating models with owners before going wider.
Audio-first focus.
Designed for the stereo in the living room. TV and video are not the brief.

Quiet, careful, and honest about what it is.
Beobridge is an independent project. We don’t claim a vast catalogue of supported devices or a flashy roadmap — we ship what we’ve confirmed and tell you plainly when something isn’t ready.
